Bruce E. Colfin was admitted to practice law in 1982, the same year as THE FIRM ® was founded. He joined THE FIRM ® in 1985 which began a 25 year run as Jacobson & Colfin, PC., representing people and companies in all entertainment related, creative, artistic, and intellectual property related matters.

In 2010 the founding members went their own ways, with Professor Bruce Colfin and BRUCE COLFIN LAW, PC., continuing on as THE FIRM ®.

“For 33 years I have provided services to people and companies in the creative and visual arts, including music, video, film, multimedia, the internet, theater, comics, toys, trademarks of all types, and international licensing. I am often called upon to analyze, consult, draft contracts and agreements or other documents, and negotiate or litigate. I am general counsel for a number of clients, including Dark Star Orchestra, Bernard Purdie, and The Urban Rebounder”.

THE FIRM ® provides trademark services and copyright services for all sorts of businesses from entertainment related businesses and individuals through commercial products of many kinds including jewelry and clothing designers, soft drink bottling, pottery manufacturers, stores, spas, games, professional services and assorted gizmos and gadgets. I have an avid interest in hockey, boxing, merchandising and sponsorship.”

Practicing law, writing and lecturing extensively on the subjects of entertainment business law, copyrights, trademarks, multimedia, the internet, and video law, Bruce continues as Adjunct Associate Professor at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY., where, since 1999, he has taught Music Business Contracts as well as Music Publishing and Copyright.
